Weekends are a slower pace. For some reason, I'm not as much of a spazz about getting to the hospital for rounds.
Evan was up to 17 mL for three rounds today and then bumped to 18 mL. He still has the IV in his head, but just until tomorrow. They wanted to go a little slow on increasing his feeds. He was tolerating them perfectly so I'm not sure why.
Evan really doesn't like being on his back. He likes to desaturate until he's flipped on his tummy. Tonight, he was desating so we asked his nurse to flip him over. As soon as his tummy hit the bed, he smiled and settled in. What a little stinker. I guess he doesn't care if his head is flat! This afternoon, Evan was being wiggly. He calmed right down (and was at 100% saturation) as soon as his dad held his hand and rubbed his head. It completely melted my heart to see Andrew loving on Evan.
Ahh. Daddy. I still wanna be on my tummy though. |
He was doing a great job with the pacifier again today. It seems like every day he is able to suck a little longer. I really hope this means he'll be able to bottle easily.
You! Yes you! I see you there, thinking about taking my binky away. This is mine! And I'm learning how to use it! |
Evan had one brady around shift change this evening (6p-7p). He had a brady around the same time last night and this morning. I think he gets anxious about the new nurse coming on so he has a little freak out. Tomorrow the doctors will decide if he should be on a maintenance dose of caffeine. Ever since they started him on the caffeine, his brady episodes have been greatly reduced.
I'm hoping to kangaroo with Evan tomorrow (keep your fingers crossed). As long as he's stable (as he has been), I think I should be able to!!
Bless your hearts! I love the new site with all the wonderful pictures! I hope you were/are able to kangaroo with Evan today! Much love to all of you.
ReplyDeleteFun to see Evan's cute little features via pictures until we see in person, soon.
