Six weeks 2 days old

Evan had a good day today. I walked in on rounds. Their only note: "We're increasing his feed to 30 mL every 3 hours." 30 mL is an ounce!

Our baby is up to an ounce!!!!! Evan weighed in last night at 1570 grams which is about 3 pounds 7 ounces. He just has to keep sucking down the liquid gold and he'll keep gaining!!!

Look how big I am!!

We had a nice snuggle time today. Unfortunately, he was snuggled in a position so I wasn't able to stare at him the whole time. No biggie, I just read to him (a home remodeling blog) and cuddled. 

Evan is also staying awake much longer. I've noticed that he's focusing his eyes a lot more. (Previously, his eyes would just kind of roll around in his head.) I know he's a ways off from actually being able to distinguish objects, but it's still nice to think he's focusing on Andrew and I. Last night he was sucking on his binky and just staring at me. I don't think he blinked once. Maybe he knows I'm his food source and he's keeping an eye on me? :)

Not much to report. We just want him to keep gaining, gaining, gaining!

A few people have commented on the picture of Evan snuggling and sticking his middle finger out. Apparently it's his move...
