Six weeks 1 day old

So on Andrew's debrief call this morning, I was informed that our son had a blow out for one of his primary nurses last night - her last round. I'll spare you the details, but let's just say his little greenhouse got a window washing and he needed all new sheets. At least our little boy is regular!

Moi? No, I didn't make a mess this morning.

Evan had a fabulous report card after rounds this morning. His feeds were increased from 27 mL to 28 mL.

He's also been nice and stable so the heel sticks (for blood gases and sugar checks) have been moved to every other day. This is awesome for his heels. He used to bleed really well from his heels, but he's building up scar tissue now.

We had a nice snuggle today. He still fits down inside my tank tops. I wonder how much longer I'll be able to get away with that. At some point he will get too big!

Too big for snuggles!? Never!
Evan did have two spells today while I was sitting with him (not during snuggle time). He was able to pull himself out of both spells. The nurse said that the doctors "allow" about 3-4 a shift. He didn't drop his heart rate too low (only in the 70s), so it wasn't too scary. Evan certainly knows how to time his spells though. I was thinking about packing it in for the day when he dipped. He convinced me to stay for another hour.

You didn't really want to leave anyway. Look how awake I am!

  1. Oh my goodness, I love seeing all of Evan's expressions! Sounds like he's a bit "too regular" for me. His bright eyes make me melt. And so do the words and actions of you and Drew! xoxo
